Day 1

Arrival in Nur-Sultan

   Transfer to the hotel, check in at the hotel.

Day 2

Nur-Sultan

Your guide and driver will meet you at hotel lobby . Start touring Nur-Sultan on Independence Square with gorgeous fountains, 91 meter high snow-white stele Kazakh Eli, Khazret Sultan Mosque, and Palace of Peace and Reconciliation. Cross Ishim River and continue sightseeing on the left bank of the river.

Lunch in restaurant. Enjoy Kazakh national cuisine.

Visit Astana-Bayterek monument to enjoy breath-taking panoramic view on the city on the top of the monument. Take a walk on Green Water Boulevard and visit the Round Square. At the end of the tour, visit shopping and entertainment center Khan Shatyr.

Duration: 5-6 hours

Dinner in  restaurant with performance of Kazakh national dances will plunge you into the atmosphere of mysterious Kazakhstan.

Day 3

Nur-Sultan - Almaty

Early in the morning take a flight to Almaty. (duration of flight 1,5 h)

Arrival at Almaty – the city of apples.

The guide and the driver will meet you at Almaty International airport. Almaty layover tour starts with a visit to Panfilov Park – named after the 28 heroes, who died for freedom and independence of the country. Zenkov Cathedral - the oldest building of the city, that is entirely wooden, built without any metal nails and a Memorial complex devoted to the World War Two and with eternal flame. Continue sightseeing at Green bazaar – a place where you can buy souvenirs, central Moslem mosque, Republic square with three main symbols of Kazakhstan and Obelisk devoted to the independence.

Lunch in local restaurant.

After the city tour, drive to Medeo Gorge. Stop at the huge Medeo dam, that protects the city from destructive mudflows formed on the tops of the western Tian Shan mountains. From the top of the dam, at the altitude of 1733 meters above the sea level, enjoy view of the largest high mountain skating rink in the world – Medeo, surrounded by marvelous mountains of Trans-Ili Alatau. After that visit the top of Kok-Tube hill, where you can enjoy unforgettable panorama of Almaty from the observation desk. At the foot of the tallest TV tower in Kazakhstan you can take a walk along the winding paths of the Kok-Tobe park, where you will come across "The Beatles" monument devoted to the popular Liverpool band. At the end of the tour take a short ride from the hill to the city center by the cable car.

During the tour you will have lunch in a local restaurant. The driver and guide will round up the tour bringing you back to the airport.

The program usually takes 4-5 hours, but easily customised upon your request.

Day 5

Altyn-Emel National Nature Park

 Breakfast in the guest house , excursion around Altyn-Emel: animal observation, Besshatyr barrows, "Singing dune".

In the evening drive back to Almaty. Arrival at Almaty railway station to catch a fast-speed train to Turkestan.(16h)

Day 6

Turkestan

Arrival in Turkestan early in the morning. Meeting with a guide . Have a breakfast in a local restaurant. 

The excursion starts with the  visit of the main site of interest in Turkestan: the Mausoleum of Kozha Akhmed Yasaui, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At the end of the main hall, behind an inlaid wooden door, is the tomb of Yasaui. From the left corner of the main hall we enter the mosque of the mausoleum, with the floor covered with carpets and a beautiful mihrab of tiles. 

Lunch in a local restaurant.

After lunch, we head south to Otrar. Along the way we stop to visit the Mausoleum of Aristan-Bab, the tomb of a mentor of Kozha Akhmed Yasaui. Then we continue to the ruins of Otrar, protagonist of the events that brought Genghis Khan to Central Asia. We visit the mound called locally Otyrar-Tobe. Then we drive to Shymkent 155 km.

Day 7

Shymkent

Shymkent is the most vibrant city in southern Kazakhstan, along the tree-lined streets, the Central Asian atmosphere is more evident than in any other place in the country. 

After lunch, we visit the main sites of interest in Shymkent: the lively Central Bazaar, the Independence Park and the Regional Museum.

Departure towards north-west to Sauran, probably the best preserved and most evocative of the many ruined cities of the Silk Road located in the Syr-Darya Valley. We visit the archaeological site and then depart for Turkistan.

After dinner transfer to the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan border Jibek joly (100)
